The holidays are almost here! And isn’t it the perfect time to bring out your outdoor grill and enjoy great food with friends and family!

Cooking traditional dishes like honey glazed ham and prime rib is key to a successful holiday meal. Your outdoor grill can make all the difference to your success.

The two most popular outdoor grill options are gas and charcoal grills. Which one will you choose to cook your holiday feast?

Gas Grills

Gas grills are the top-selling grills, mainly because gas grills are convenient, efficient and heat up to cooking temperature within minutes.

Natural gas or propane used in gas grills is affordable and readily available too.

Gas grills also give you better control of your heat. The only advantage charcoal grills have gas grills is that the radiant heat that comes off coals is a much hotter and balanced burn.

However, you can install grill plate inserts into your gas grill, which radiates just as much heat as coals.

Charcoal Grills

Cooking on a charcoal grill is for those who want to experience fine grilling.

Charcoal is wood, burned slowly in the absence of oxygen. Since wood produces high, steady temperatures for long periods, nothing compares to the flavors produced by cooking on a charcoal grill. The high radiant heat from the charcoal unlocks the flavors and juices in your meat. However, a charcoal grill requires more attention because of the high radiating heat.

Most households own a gas grill, but grilling and BBQ experts choose charcoal grills. Both are great when it comes to holidays and celebrations. So, which grill do you prefer? Let us know in the comments below.
